The benefits of drawers include keeping items protected and out of sight, to maintain a neater appearance. With shelves, you have two options – open or hidden. For instance, you may prefer open shelves, if you want to keep belongings on display and highlight your favourite moments or keepsakes. Shelves inside closed cabinets on the other hand can offer more flexible storage options.

Not necessarily – sometimes contrasting your cabinet with your other furniture can give your space a cosy depth. We recommend looking at furniture matching from an entire room point of view; pick three colours for your workspace and stick to the 60:30:10 rule.
